Class of 2023 | Southeast Technical College
Meet the workforce of the future. Southeast Technical College feeds the region’s workforce pipeline and has since 1968. STC alumni work in business, construction, engineering technology, healthcare, horticulture, law enforcement, early childhood education, engineering technology, information technology, mechatronics, media communications, veterinary care, and the trades.
Olivia Iraheta, Adam Joachim, Emily Muilenburg, Dustyn Fish, Jolynn Crump, Jaylen Kemp, and Ashton Dykstra represent a sampling of STC academic programs and will graduate soon
Impressively, many students have jobs secured prior to graduation–exemplifying STC’s commitment to providing relevant skills and hands-on training.
“We tap into the expertise of industry through our academic advisory boards,” STC President Bob Griggs said. “These industry leaders assist faculty and administration in evaluating and refining the curriculum.”
While academic offerings are relevant and fresh, STC offers several programs that have withstood the test of time. Fish, a Land Survey Science and Civil Engineering Technology student, says his program has been around for decades.
“STC started my program almost 40 years ago, and it’s well-known and regarded in the Midwest,” Fish said. “My instructors cater the program towards getting students ready for industry and to sit for the licensure exam after graduation.”
Muilenburg, a Media Design Technology student, echoed Fish’s sentiments.
“STC has equipped me with the skills I need as well as resources and connections to those already in the field. My instructors take time to make sure I understand what I need to know,” Muilenburg said.
