Serving in my second term as the 32nd Mayor of Sioux Falls, I feel fortunate to connect daily with community members and business leaders across all industry sectors. The City of Sioux Falls has a vision statement: “Taking care of today for a better tomorrow.” We collaborate to ensure our foundational investments benefit both current and future generations. Our One Sioux Falls framework guides our decisions for strategic community growth, focusing on safety, housing, workforce, and community engagement.
It’s important we put our community first, prioritizing investments that make Sioux Falls a desirable place to live, work, play, and grow a business. We remain committed to taking strategic steps to ensure the continued success of South Dakota’s largest city. In recent years, Sioux Falls has been named one of the best-run cities in America multiple times, and in 2023, was ranked in the top 30 of one of the fastest-growing communities in the country.
Since 2021, Sioux Falls has achieved over $1 billion annually in commercial and residential building permits, a testament to our economic vitality. Much of our city’s incredible success is due to the contributions of the many faces featured in these pages as well as those in your neighborhood, place of worship, or workplace. I encourage you to intentionally spend time building and strengthening relationships across our community as we continue fostering the growth of our city as One Sioux Falls.
